Dr. Rajiv Kalra, dentist at Agoka Dental in Tampa, FL

Meet Dr. Rajiv Kalra

I quite literally grew up in a dental office. My father, Dr. Naresh Kalra, founded Agoka Dental in 1994, so dentistry has always felt like home to me. From an early age, I saw how the right care at the right moment could change someone’s life. That’s what inspired me to become a dentist: to help people feel better, smile with confidence, and live without dental pain or fear. Today I’m proud to practice alongside him.

For me, transforming a smile doesn’t always mean something complex. Sometimes it’s as simple as relieving pain by removing a broken tooth. Other times, it’s rebuilding an entire smile with dental implants or full-mouth reconstruction. Whatever the treatment, my goal is the same: to help you feel comfortable, informed, and confident in your care.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is caring for patients who’ve had bad dental experiences in the past. I take pride in changing those expectations with modern, gentle, comfortable dentistry. Dentistry should never feel rushed or intimidating, so I take the time to explain your options and make sure you feel in control every step of the way.

I completed both my undergraduate degree and dental school at the University of Florida, where I now serve on the faculty of the College of Dentistry. I’ve completed thousands of hours of continuing education and hold advanced credentials from the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. I’m also a clinical instructor for an implant education company, teaching dentists from across the country advanced implant surgery. Teaching keeps me sharp and means my patients benefit from the latest techniques and technology.

Giving back is a big part of who I am. I recently founded a nonprofit dental clinic in Tampa, where I serve as director and treat patients myself. I also volunteer at other free clinics in our area and take part every year in Florida Mission of Mercy, which provides free dental care to thousands of people in need. Beyond Tampa, I’ve volunteered on dental mission trips in the Dominican Republic, India, and Ecuador. Close to home or across the world, I believe everyone deserves access to quality dental care.

Outside the office, my kids will tell you I love three things most: my family, teeth, and airplanes. I’m a commercial multi-engine pilot working toward becoming a certified flight instructor so I can teach others to fly. Whether in dentistry or aviation, I believe in lifelong learning, precision, and safety. I’m grateful for my wife and our two children, who push me every day to be the best version of myself.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve a healthy, confident smile, comfortably and stress-free.
